“Reliable and easy to use - just needs a little more padding: Reliable and easy to use - just needs a little more padding I’ve used this Surfboard Truck Rack about half a dozen times now with two paddle boards, and it’s honestly done a great job.”

“Fits 2016 F-150: I thought it would be slightly larger and come down more on both sides but you can see in the pictures the 2016 F150 tailgate is pretty thick. I'm assuming some other trucks or smaller trucks have a thinner tailgate.”

“Awesome truck surf pad!: Keeps my board secure on the highway, and I really like that the straps do not damage the board because they are rubber/ silicon coated. Super heavy duty and feels like it will last a lifetime. Thank you HO STEVIE!”

Questions fréquentes

Foire aux questions

The Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack wraps around your truck's tailgate—no rack system needed. Fits most mid-size and full-size pickup trucks. Check your tailgate width against the pad size. Utilise notre vérificateur de compatibilité below to confirm your truck model.

Load your board fins-up (or fins-back depending on carrier style) and center it on the Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack. Use the included straps to cinch it down tight. Give each strap a firm tug—no play means a safe ride. Add a nose/tail line on highway trips for extra peace of mind.

The Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack holds up to 5 boards at once. Stack them with wax sides together (or use a board sock between them) to prevent ding damage. Total weight limit is 50.0 lbs—factor that for heavier longboards.

The Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack uses neoprene to cradle your board without pressure points. The pads are wax-resistant so they won't bond to your board. Avoid over-tightening straps—snug is enough. Dings come from loading mistakes, not the carrier itself.

Yes—the Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack is rated for up to 80 mph when properly loaded and strapped. Check straps at every fuel stop on long drives. Wind can lift a loose board off your roof at highway speed, which is dangerous and expensive. Nose and tail tie-downs add serious insurance.

The Ho Stevie! Surfboard Tailgate Rack is primarily designed for surfboards. SUPs may fit if they're within the 50.0-lb weight limit and 10.0-ft length max. Check dimensions carefully—wider SUPs may overhang the pads. A dedicated SUP carrier is safer for regular use.
