Dlaczego ten produkt

Dlaczego OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS?

The Atlas is OVS's mid-range clamshell offering with a cantilever design that extends beyond the vehicle footprint. The 600D polyester ripstop is more durable than their entry-level 420D fabric. At 180 lbs for a 3-person tent it is not the lightest, but the 30-second clamshell setup is quick. If you want a 3-person clamshell at a lower price than premium brands like iKamper, OVS fills that mid-range gap.

Często zadawane pytania

Here's why this matters: the OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS weighs 180.00 lbs. Your roof rack's dynamic load rating must exceed that plus occupant weight when driving. Most factory racks top out at 150–165 lbs dynamic. Use our sprawdź kompatybilność to verify your setup.

The OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS weighs 180.00 lbs (81.60 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 480.00 lbs total.

Installation takes two people and roughly 45 minutes. The OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes. The OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS's hardshell design is aerodynamically efficient when closed. Most owners drive at normal highway speeds (65–75 mph) without issues. Here's why: the rigid shell deflects wind cleanly. You'll notice some increased fuel consumption and minor crosswind sensitivity, but handling stays predictable.

The OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS uses 600D polyester ripstop fabric with a 3000mm waterproof rating. Here's why that matters: 1500mm handles moderate rain, 3000mm+ handles sustained downpours. It's rated 3_season. Seam-seal all zippers annually to maintain waterproofing over time.

The OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS opens in about 0 minute—unlatch, and the gas struts do the heavy lifting. That's the engineering advantage of a hardshell: no poles, no rainfly to wrestle. Teardown is equally fast. It's the fastest category of rooftop tent on the market.

Yes—expect a 10–15% reduction in fuel economy with the OVS Atlas Cantilever ABS mounted. Here's why: the added weight (180.00 lbs) and aerodynamic drag both increase fuel consumption. Hardshells are more efficient than softshells due to their streamlined profile. Removing it when not camping eliminates the penalty entirely.
