Perché questo prodotto

Perché il Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack?

Designed specifically for vehicles with rear-mounted spare tires — Jeeps, older SUVs, and similar. Mounts around the spare without requiring a hitch. Two bikes at 35 lbs each, steel construction. No locks, not carbon-safe, no tilt or fold. The trade-offs are significant but this solves a specific problem: carrying bikes on a vehicle where the spare tire blocks standard trunk racks. I recommend this only to spare-tire vehicle owners who do not want to install a hitch.

“It works as advertised: First a disclaimer: I only put a single bike on it. My trailer already had a reinforced bumper, so I didn't have to do anything to add supports. Installation was easy, but be aware that the vertical bars may not end up perfectly vertical.”

“Straps are kinda hard to get on: Perfect for the rv we’ve used it tons of times with no problems other than getting the rubber strap to connect to hold the bike on ( its just super tight, but it’s still new so maybe it will stretch out some.Installing it is pretty easy as well it ft right over the wheel tire.”

· Leggi

“Great RV bike rack: This rack is perfect for an RV Trailer. I have a 15" spare attached to my rear bumper. The only thing is that if you have a rear folding gear platform on the back of your trailer with the spare tire attached to the outside of that, this bike rack will not fit.”

Domande frequenti

The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack clamps onto your rear-mounted spare tire, so it is built mainly for Jeeps and similar SUVs. No hitch or roof rack required. Usa il nostro verifica compatibilità above and vedi our spare tire rack guide for details.

Spare tire racks work best with standard-weight bikes. E-bikes at 45–65 lbs can stress the spare tire mount. The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack supports up to its rated capacity. If you ride an e-bike, a hitch rack is the safer upgrade — check la nostra guida ai tipi di portabici.

The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack bolts around your spare tire with an adjustable clamp system. You will need basic hand tools and about 15–20 minutes for the first install. Once it is on, it stays put. Check our spare tire rack guide for step-by-step details.

The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack attaches to the spare tire, so your vehicle paint stays untouched. The main concern is extra stress on the spare tire mount over time. Keep the bolts snug and check them periodically. Vedi la nostra guida per prevenire danni al supporto for more details.

The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack costa ~112 €. For Jeep and SUV owners, spare tire racks hit a sweet spot between price and convenience — no hitch install required. Vedi il nostro confronto prezzi portabici to compare options.

The Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack does not include a lock. Since spare tire racks are bolted on, the rack itself is fairly secure — but your bikes are exposed. Add a cable lock through the frames at minimum. Vedi our spare tire rack guide for security recommendations.

With the Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack mounted, accessing your rear cargo door depends on the design. Most spare tire racks swing with the tire carrier, so you can still open the rear. Verifica il tuo veicolo specifico — some aftermarket tire mounts change the clearance.
