Waarom dit product

Waarom de Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex?

The Autana 3 includes an annex that effectively doubles your sheltered space, which is a meaningful feature for base camp setups. At 130 lbs for a 3-person tent with annex, the weight is quite competitive. The 600D polyester ripstop is durable fabric for the price. If you plan to stay at camps for multiple nights and want extra sheltered space without buying a separate awning, the included annex adds genuine value.

“We have this tent. Bought it secondhand. Works like a charm. But it needs to be stored dry. We do fold it wet, but when we store it we make sure it is dry.”

“I have a ruggedized Autana, which is supposed to have heavier fabric and more water resistance. I haven't used it in the rain yet, but I also picked up a weatherhood, made to go over the whole tent…”

Veelgestelde vragen

The Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex weighs 130.00 lbs. Your rack's dynamic load rating is the limiting factor—not static. Most factory crossbars handle 150–165 lbs dynamic. If you're close to the limit, aftermarket bars solve the problem. Gebruik onze compatibiliteitscheck to confirm.

The Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex weighs 130.00 lbs (59.00 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 430.00 lbs total.

De installatie vereist twee personen en ongeveer 45 minuten. The Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes, but the Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex's folded profile creates more wind resistance than a hardshell. Highway speeds of 65–70 mph are fine when properly secured. Here's why caution matters: check all buckles and straps before driving—a loose cover flapping at speed can tear fabric and damage the tent.

The Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex uses 600D polyester ripstop fabric with a 2500mm waterproof rating. Daarom is het belangrijk: 1500mm houdt matige regen tegen, 3000mm+ houdt aanhoudende stortbuien tegen. It's rated 3_season. Dicht alle ritsen jaarlijks af om de waterdichtheid te behouden.

Expect about 5 minutes for a full setup of the Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex. That includes unfolding, extending the ladder, and securing any rainfly or annex. Practice twice at home and you'll cut that time in half. Teardown takes roughly the same.

Plan for a 15–20% fuel economy hit with the Tepui Explorer Autana 3 w/Annex installed. Here's why: 130.00 lbs of added weight plus aerodynamic drag increase consumption at all speeds. The penalty is worst above 65 mph where drag scales exponentially. Some owners only mount it for trips to minimize the ongoing cost.
