Waarom dit product

Waarom de OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell?

The Mamba 3 is OVS's 3-person clamshell option at 220 lbs. It shares the same 600D polyester ripstop and 2.5-inch mattress as the Bushveld line. The 3-person capacity at this price point makes it competitive against more expensive brands. At 220 lbs you need a capable vehicle, but for mid-size trucks and SUVs it is manageable. A reasonable mid-range choice for 3-person clamshell camping.

Veelgestelde vragen

Here's why this matters: the OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell weighs 220.00 lbs. Your roof rack's dynamic load rating must exceed that plus occupant weight when driving. Most factory racks top out at 150–165 lbs dynamic. Gebruik onze compatibiliteitscheck to verify your setup.

The OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell weighs 220.00 lbs (99.80 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 520.00 lbs total.

De installatie vereist twee personen en ongeveer 45 minuten. The OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes. The OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell's hardshell design is aerodynamically efficient when closed. Most owners drive at normal highway speeds (65–75 mph) without issues. Here's why: the rigid shell deflects wind cleanly. You'll notice some increased fuel consumption and minor crosswind sensitivity, but handling stays predictable.

The OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell uses 600D polyester ripstop fabric with a 3000mm waterproof rating. Daarom is het belangrijk: 1500mm houdt matige regen tegen, 3000mm+ houdt aanhoudende stortbuien tegen. It's rated 3_season.

Het opruimen gaat even snel. Het is de snelste categorie daktent op de markt.

Yes—expect a 10–15% reduction in fuel economy with the OVS Mamba 3 Clamshell mounted. Here's why: the added weight (220.00 lbs) and aerodynamic drag both increase fuel consumption. Hardshells are more efficient than softshells due to their streamlined profile. Removing it when not camping eliminates the penalty entirely.
