Dlaczego ten produkt

Dlaczego Tepui Foothill 2?

The Foothill 2 is a wedge-style tent at just 100 lbs, combining the aerodynamic wedge profile with lightweight construction. The 600D polyester ripstop is sturdier fabric than the Basin models' 210D. The 60-second setup is much faster than Tepui's fold-out tents. If you want the aerodynamic benefits of a wedge with stronger fabric than the Basin line and minimal weight, the Foothill is a well-balanced option for daily-driver vehicles.

“Typically, the problem that I have seen with factory racks is that the load bars are too wide/narrow for the RTT brackets, cannot be spaced properly for the tent, or they do not support the weight of…”

“Hey, this is really good info and I am glad you mentioned it. It had not occurred to me that the fold out part would not have mounting rails/extrusions that would create a gap.”

“Looks awesome! I would like to get one but that is dependent on weather or not it will fit on my rack with a cargo box next to it.”

u/Cyris28, 5y ago · Czytaj

“Great overall! They say it’s technically a two person but more than enough room (and weight capacity) for two adults and a toddler.”

u/Haynook, 5y ago · Czytaj

“There are aluminum extrusions mounted to the bottom of every roof top tent so you're able to mount it to your roof rack.”

Często zadawane pytania

The Tepui Foothill 2 weighs 100.00 lbs. Your rack's dynamic load rating is the limiting factor—not static. Most factory crossbars handle 150–165 lbs dynamic. If you're close to the limit, aftermarket bars solve the problem. Use our sprawdź kompatybilność to confirm.

The Tepui Foothill 2 weighs 100.00 lbs (45.40 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 400.00 lbs total.

Installation takes two people and roughly 45 minutes. The Tepui Foothill 2 bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes, but the Tepui Foothill 2's folded profile creates more wind resistance than a hardshell. Highway speeds of 65–70 mph are fine when properly secured. Here's why caution matters: check all buckles and straps before driving—a loose cover flapping at speed can tear fabric and damage the tent.

The Tepui Foothill 2 uses 600D polyester ripstop fabric with a 2500mm waterproof rating. Here's why that matters: 1500mm handles moderate rain, 3000mm+ handles sustained downpours. It's rated 3_season. Seam-seal all zippers annually to maintain waterproofing over time.

Expect about 1 minutes for a full setup of the Tepui Foothill 2. That includes unfolding, extending the ladder, and securing any rainfly or annex. Practice twice at home and you'll cut that time in half. Teardown takes roughly the same.

Plan for a 15–20% fuel economy hit with the Tepui Foothill 2 installed. Here's why: 100.00 lbs of added weight plus aerodynamic drag increase consumption at all speeds. The penalty is worst above 65 mph where drag scales exponentially. Some owners only mount it for trips to minimize the ongoing cost.
