Australian manufacturer of roof racks and cargo solutions. Popular with overlanders.
Rhino-Rack is the Australian entry in the premium roof-rack conversation. Founded in 1992 in Sydney, the company built its reputation kitting out Toyota Land Cruisers, Hilux pickups, and other overland workhorses that spend more time off pavement than on it. That outback DNA is still the brand's biggest differentiator.
Rhino-Rack makes Pioneer platform trays, Vortex aero bars, Sunseeker awnings, and rooftop tents designed to survive corrugated dirt roads and 100°F heat. Their hardware tends to be beefier than comparable Thule or Yakima gear, which matters if you're carrying a rooftop tent and actually using it.
In the U.S. market they're the overlander's choice, especially for 4Runners, Tacomas, and Jeeps. Prices land in the premium tier but they're frequently cheaper than Front Runner for the same platform-rack concept.
Did you know?
Rhino-Rack's gear has been used on Land Rover's record-breaking Cape Town to London expeditions, and the company still tests new designs on the punishing Simpson Desert crossing in Australia before products hit shelves.
