No frame contact — it grabs the front wheel only, which makes it the safest roof option for carbon frames. At 8 lbs it adds almost nothing to your roof load. Fits 26-29 inch wheels, integrated locks for bike and rack. The 40 lb limit means lighter standard bikes only. I recommend this as the Yakima alternative to the Thule UpRide — same concept, slightly different fit, and some people prefer how Yakima mounts to their specific crossbar setup.
