Pourquoi ce produit

Pourquoi le BAL Classic Scissor Jack 24" 2-Pack ?

BAL scissor jacks have been the go-to trailer stabilizer for decades. The 24-inch version handles most travel trailers at 7,500 lbs per jack. They are mechanical, reliable, and need no power source. The trade-off is cranking time — plan on a few minutes per corner. But they rarely fail.

“Nice Product: Overall I am impressed. My rig is a 25 Ft Attitude toy hauler. I bought it used and it had a mixed set of scissor jacks. One side took a hexagon type socket handle and the other used a different kind of handle that is very different. Also the amount of torque it took to crank each jack varied.”

“Excellent product, damaged box: I was replacing the rear stabilizer jacks on my old camper and decided to check Amazon for the BAL brand I wanted. Of course they had them. They came a day early via UPS, and although the actual product inside the box was intact with all the parts present, the box came nearly destroyed.”

“Great addition to travel trailer.: I originally bought a set to replace the flimsy scissor jacks that came on the back of my camper. I was so impressed by their sturdy build and quality that I ordered a second pair for the front. When I tell you the difference is night and day I'm not exaggerating.”

“American made support when you need it: This is our second set---unfortunately our previous set were bent beyond repair when I went off road and backed into 3 foot rocks--and we would not buy another brand. On july 4, 2023, we were set up at Nomads View at the Badlands when huge thunder storm rolled in at 11:03 P.M.”

Questions fréquentes

Foire aux questions

It mounts to the frame rail and extends from 4 to 23.75 inches. Measure your frame-to-ground height first. It installs bolt-on or weld-on, so an existing jack's holes will not necessarily line up.

7,500 lbs per jack — not per set. This is a set of 2, so the figure on the box may appear as a total; it is 7,500 lbs times 2, and no single jack does more than its own share. Match the per-jack number against the weight actually resting on that corner, which is a fraction of the trailer's weight, not all of it.

No. A stabilizer stops the trailer rocking when you walk around inside it. It is not a lift, and it is not a jack stand. Raising a trailer on stabilizers can bend the frame at the mounting point, and it puts the whole thing on hardware that was never rated to hold it up. Use a bottle jack at a designated lift point, then support the load on stands, and only then go underneath.

This is a set of 2. Four is the normal number for a travel trailer — one at each corner — so a pair covers one end and most owners end up buying two sets. Placing them just inside the corners rather than at the extreme ends does more to stop the rocking, because that is where the frame is stiffest.

Bolt-on or weld-on. Bolting is within reach of anyone with a drill and a socket set; welding is not a driveway job. Either way, mount to the frame rail itself, never to sheet metal or a bed liner — the jack will hold, and the thing it is bolted to will not.

Put something under the foot. A jack pad or a scrap of dimensional lumber spreads the load so the foot does not press into gravel, sand or soft turf. This is not about grip — a stabilizer is not trying to resist sliding, it is trying not to sink. On asphalt in summer heat, a pad also keeps the foot from leaving a dent you will be asked about.
