Roof Mounting
flush rails with factory rails
The Mazda CX-90 (2024+) is Mazda's flagship 3-row SUV featuring flush-mounted roof rails on Select and above trims. These sit nearly flush with the roofline β similar in concept to the BMW and Lexus approach. Mounting requires Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or Yakima StreamLine towers. Rail-to-rail span: approximately 46 inches. Front-to-rear crossbar spread: up to 40 inches. The CX-90's long roofline (derived from the 3-row body) provides the most generous roof cargo envelope in Mazda's lineup β significantly larger than the CX-5 or CX-50. The S (base) trim has no roof rails. Doorframe clamp systems are available but Mazda has not yet published the specific fit kit number for aftermarket providers β check Thule and Yakima compatibility databases for updates. [ADD PERSONAL EXPERIENCE] The CX-90's hybrid powertrain variants (PHEV) add approximately 350 lbs to curb weight compared to the non-hybrid. This does not affect roof load rating, but the heavier vehicle handles roof loads with less noticeable weight transfer during lane changes.
