Roof Mounting
flush rails with factory rails
The 2nd-generation Lexus NX (AZ20 platform, 2022+) features flush-mounted roof rails on all trims from Premium and above. Shared TNGA-K platform with the Toyota RAV4, but with Lexus-specific body construction that affects mounting compatibility. Rail-to-rail span: approximately 42 inches. Front-to-rear crossbar spread: up to 33 inches. The NX occupies the compact luxury SUV segment β roof dimensions are similar to the RAV4 but with slightly different rail positioning due to the wider body panels. Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or Yakima StreamLine towers mount to the flush rails. The Standard trim (without rails) requires Thule Evo Clamp with an NX-specific fit kit β the laser-brazed body seams create a different clamping profile than the RAV4 despite platform sharing. [ADD PERSONAL EXPERIENCE] The NX 450h+ (PHEV variant) positions its charge port on the left rear quarter panel. This does not affect roof-mount installations but is relevant for hitch-mount swing-away racks.
