Roof Mounting
flush rails with factory rails
The 5th-generation Kia Sportage (2023+) features flush roof rails on all trims equipped with roof rails. The flush rail system requires specific mounting hardware β raised-rail feet will not work. Use Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or Yakima StreamLine towers. The Sportage's rail profile is closely related to the Hyundai Tucson (shared platform) but verify crossbar length independently β the Sportage has a slightly different body width. Rail-to-rail span is approximately 42 inches with a front-to-rear crossbar spread of 33-37 inches. This accommodates standard cargo boxes (M and L sizes), kayak carriers, and bike carriers without issue. The Sportage X-Line and X-Pro trims add rugged exterior styling but use the same flush rail mounting system. The available Class III hitch on these trims makes hitch-mount accessories particularly convenient.
