Roof Mounting
raised rails with factory rails
The Jeep Grand Cherokee WL (2022+) features raised roof rails across all trims — from Laredo through Summit and Trailhawk. The rail system uses a robust aluminum extrusion with a traditional raised profile (visible gap between rail and roof), making crossbar selection straightforward. The Thule Evo Raised Rail (710401) with WingBar Evo and Yakima TimberLine with JetStream bars both provide verified fitment. No fit kit required — rail-clamp feet grip directly. The Grand Cherokee's wider body creates a generous rail-to-rail span of approximately 44 inches — wider than the RAV4, CR-V, or Outback. This accommodates full-size cargo boxes (Thule Motion 3 XL at 84.5 inches) and wide cargo baskets (Canyon XT at 49 inches) without overhang. The Grand Cherokee L (long-wheelbase 3-row) has the same rail system but with a longer rail length — additional crossbar positions are available for cargo that requires wider longitudinal spread. The Trailhawk trim includes slightly different rail end cap styling but identical mounting geometry. Do not let cosmetic differences drive different hardware choices.
