Roof Mounting
flush rails with factory rails
The 4th-generation Honda Pilot (2023+) features flush roof rails across all trims. The mounting approach mirrors the Honda CR-V's newer iterations but on a larger platform: Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or Yakima StreamLine towers with vehicle-specific adapters. The Pilot's wider body provides approximately 46-inch rail-to-rail span β the widest in Honda's lineup. This accommodates full-size cargo boxes (Thule Motion 3 XL at 84.5 inches) and wide cargo baskets without overhang concerns. Honda offers factory crossbars for the Pilot rated at 165 lbs. These use a proprietary channel attachment distinct from aftermarket systems. Aftermarket Thule/Yakima systems use universal flush-rail T-bolt engagement and are not interchangeable with Honda OEM hardware. The Pilot's three-row configuration means the rear rail section extends further back than two-row SUVs β additional crossbar positions are available for large cargo.
