Roof Mounting
flush rails with factory rails
The 4th-generation Ford Escape (2020+) uses flush roof rails on trims equipped with rails. The compact crossover requires Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or Yakima StreamLine towers for crossbar mounting. The Escape's compact roofline limits front-to-rear crossbar spread to approximately 30-34 inches. Rail-to-rail span is approximately 40 inches. This accommodates compact to medium cargo boxes (S through L sizes) and standard kayak/bike carriers. The Escape PHEV (plug-in hybrid) has identical roof structure and load ratings to the conventional and hybrid models. Battery placement is below the floor and does not affect roof capacity.
