Roof Mounting
no roof attachment
The 4th-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (T1, 2019+) shares the Ford F-150's fundamental challenge: no factory roof attachment points on the cab as standard equipment. The cab roof is a large stamped panel without rails, fixed points, or gutters on most trims. Some trims (LT Trail Boss, ZR2) offer an optional roof rail package β verify your specific truck. With factory rails, use Thule Evo Flush Rail (7106) or equivalent flush-rail feet. For the majority without factory rails: the Thule Evo Clamp system with Silverado-specific fit kit can grip the doorframe. However, as with all full-size trucks, bed-mounted rack systems are the superior engineering solution. The Silverado's bed uses stake pockets at standardized locations for bolt-on rack installation. Bed lengths: 5-foot-8 (Short Box), 6-foot-6 (Standard Box), and 8-foot (Long Box). Each has different stake pocket spacing. Verify bed length before ordering any bed rack system.
