Why this product

Why the Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket?

Drop-down rear basket design lets you access gear without reaching over the rack. Universal ATV fit, 10 lbs, 4 tie-down points. The drop-down feature is the practical advantage over fixed baskets — it opens from the side. ATV only, no UTV compatibility. If you load and unload rear cargo frequently, the side-access design saves effort compared to top-loading baskets.

Amazon

4.4/5

Based on 285 reviews

Customers find the rack's appearance appealing and appreciate its solid construction and versatility, with one mentioning it's great for transporting game up and down hills. The assembly process is mixed, with some finding it super easy to put together while others struggle with unhelpful installation instructions. The fit and mounting hardware receive mixed feedback - while it fits Honda models well, it doesn't work with Polaris, and the u-bolts provided are too short. Durability is also mixed, with some saying it will last many years while others find it not durable.

“Very satisfied: Seems well built (although made in China). Went together very easy with a small impact driver. Assembled and installed in about an hour and fits my 2024 Honda Rubicon perfectly using the included small U bolts.”

“Easy to put together: Bought for CF Moto Cforce 600. The tubing is sturdy. Not sure how long the mesh will last because welds are few and far between. It is lighter than drop basket I bought 22 years ago. I would recommend when assembling, not to tighten screws until its fully assembled.”

· Read

“Two Thumbs Up!: Really impressed with the heavy-duty, rock-solid build. I installed this on my 2025 Rubicon, used entirely for farm work, and I’m confident it’ll endure years of tough use. I also got the matching front rack, and now my quad can carry a ton of tools and weight.”

· Read

“built tough: so i looked at the $120 and $150 baskets. Reviews weren't good on the first one, the second one covered the complete rear and would have made it hard to get to the battery should you need and i need to quite often as someone's always leaving the lights on or key turned on.”

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket is a universal-fit rack that works with most ATVs. Here's the installation requirement: measure your mounting points and compare against the adjustable bracket range in the specs. Use our compatibility checker to confirm your specific make and model.

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket supports up to 100 lbs. Here's why staying under the limit is critical on off-road vehicles: trail impacts multiply effective load forces by 2–3x. A 100-lb static load hits like 200–300 lbs on rough terrain. Distribute weight evenly and secure everything with the 4 tie-down points.

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket features a drop-basket design—lower your gear in from the top. Here's the technique: heavy items go on the bottom, centered over the mounting points. Lighter gear on top. Use the tie-down points to strap everything down before hitting the trail. Loose cargo on rough terrain becomes a projectile.

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket has 4 tie-down points for securing cargo. The mesh floor lets mud and water drain through instead of pooling. Here's why securing cargo matters more on ATVs than trucks: off-road impacts are violent and unpredictable. Ratchet straps at every point, checked after every mile of rough terrain.

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket is built from steel. Apply a rust-inhibitor spray before the season starts. Here's the maintenance reality: ATVs and UTVs get dirtier than any other vehicle category. Rinse the rack with fresh water after every muddy ride to prevent accelerated corrosion.

The Kolpin ATV Rear Rack Drop Basket does not fold—it's a fixed-mount design. Here's the trade-off: fixed racks are stronger and more rigid under load, but they remain in place when empty. If trail clearance is a concern, remove it between trips. That takes about 15 minutes with basic tools.
