The Spine Shield padding and quick-release lever upgrade the basic Allen trunk rack into something that protects your bike frame better. Two bikes at 35 lbs each, 9 lbs, fits most vehicles. Not carbon-safe, no locks. I recommend this as the small step up from the Deluxe for riders who noticed their basic trunk rack was scratching their frame.
