Why this product
Why the Swagman Around The Spare Tire Bike Rack?
Designed specifically for vehicles with rear-mounted spare tires — Jeeps, older SUVs, and similar. Mounts around the spare without requiring a hitch. Two bikes at 35 lbs each, steel construction. No locks, not carbon-safe, no tilt or fold. The trade-offs are significant but this solves a specific problem: carrying bikes on a vehicle where the spare tire blocks standard trunk racks. I recommend this only to spare-tire vehicle owners who do not want to install a hitch.
