Reese
Legacy towing brand manufacturing hitches, hitch cargo carriers, and towing accessories.
About Reese
Reese is the oldest name in American trailer hitches. Founded in 1952 as a trailer-hitch manufacturer for the postwar station-wagon boom, Reese has been a household name in tow equipment for over seventy years. The brand is now owned by Horizon Global.
Reese makes hitch receivers, weight-distribution hitches, fifth-wheel plates, cargo carriers, and sway controls. The Reese Pro Series name shows up in a lot of big-box stores. Their weight distribution hitches are the ones most commonly recommended for first-time travel-trailer owners.
Quality is mixed in recent years after corporate consolidation. If you're buying Reese, it's usually because of price and availability rather than premium build quality.
Did you know?
Reese Products invented the weight-distribution hitch in 1952 — the "Strait-Line" design that became the industry standard is still manufactured today, over 70 years later, using essentially the same spring-bar principle.
