Premium roof rack manufacturer known for Crestone and Catalina systems.
Sherpa Equipment Company is another small-batch Colorado aluminum roof rack builder, founded in 2015. They compete head-to-head with Prinsu in the low-profile truck and SUV rack niche, and the two brands have a friendly rivalry among Toyota and Jeep owners online.
Sherpa makes the Grand Teton (flagship), Little Bear, Crestone, and several other racks named after Rocky Mountain 14ers. All are 6061 aluminum, powder-coated, and designed to sit low enough that you can still use a garage.
Fit is limited to the usual overlanding targets — 4Runner, Tacoma, Wrangler, Bronco, etc. Pricing is comparable to Prinsu. The choice between them usually comes down to the accessory mount points you want.
Did you know?
Every Sherpa rack model is named after a Colorado fourteener — a peak over 14,000 feet — because the founders were climbers before they were rack builders.
