Proč tento produkt

Proč iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo?

The Skycamp 4.0 Duo represents iKamper's latest generation, replacing the 3.0 series with a new Duracore FRP shell and BreathWeave canvas. At 149 lbs it is 16 lbs lighter than the Skycamp 3.0 while maintaining 4-season capability. The BreathWeave fabric should improve ventilation over the previous 300GSM poly-cotton. If you want the newest iKamper technology in a 2-person format, this is the current state of the art in their lineup.

Časté dotazy

Často kladené otázky

Here's why this matters: the iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo weighs 149.00 lbs. Your roof rack's dynamic load rating must exceed that plus occupant weight when driving. Most factory racks top out at 150–165 lbs dynamic. Use our kontrola kompatibility to verify your setup.

The iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo weighs 149.00 lbs (67.60 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 449.00 lbs total.

Installation takes two people and roughly 45 minutes. The iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 22.0" and 39.0" before you start.

Yes. The iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo's hardshell design is aerodynamically efficient when closed. Most owners drive at normal highway speeds (65–75 mph) without issues. Here's why: the rigid shell deflects wind cleanly. You'll notice some increased fuel consumption and minor crosswind sensitivity, but handling stays predictable.

The iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo uses BreathWeave canvas fabric with a 2000mm waterproof rating. Here's why that matters: 1500mm handles moderate rain, 3000mm+ handles sustained downpours. It's rated 4_season. Seam-seal all zippers annually to maintain waterproofing over time.

The iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo opens in about 1 minute—unlatch, and the gas struts do the heavy lifting. That's the engineering advantage of a hardshell: no poles, no rainfly to wrestle. Teardown is equally fast. It's the fastest category of rooftop tent on the market.

Yes—expect a 10–15% reduction in fuel economy with the iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Duo mounted. Here's why: the added weight (149.00 lbs) and aerodynamic drag both increase fuel consumption. Hardshells are more efficient than softshells due to their streamlined profile. Removing it when not camping eliminates the penalty entirely.
