Proč tento produkt

Proč iKamper BDV Solo?

At 92 lbs, the BDV Solo is one of the lightest rooftop tents on the market from any premium brand. The wedge design works well for solo travelers who want minimal wind resistance. You get iKamper's 300GSM canvas and aluminum shell quality at a weight that works on smaller vehicles and crossovers. If you camp solo and payload capacity is a concern, this is likely the best premium option available.

Časté dotazy

Často kladené otázky

The iKamper BDV Solo weighs 92.00 lbs. Your rack's dynamic load rating is the limiting factor—not static. Most factory crossbars handle 150–165 lbs dynamic. If you're close to the limit, aftermarket bars solve the problem. Use our kontrola kompatibility to confirm.

The iKamper BDV Solo weighs 92.00 lbs (41.70 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 392.00 lbs total.

Installation takes two people and roughly 45 minutes. The iKamper BDV Solo bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 22.0" and 39.0" before you start.

Yes, but the iKamper BDV Solo's folded profile creates more wind resistance than a hardshell. Highway speeds of 65–70 mph are fine when properly secured. Here's why caution matters: check all buckles and straps before driving—a loose cover flapping at speed can tear fabric and damage the tent.

The iKamper BDV Solo uses 300gsm poly-cotton canvas fabric with a 2000mm waterproof rating. Here's why that matters: 1500mm handles moderate rain, 3000mm+ handles sustained downpours. It's rated 3_season. Seam-seal all zippers annually to maintain waterproofing over time.

Setup takes roughly 2 minutes. The iKamper BDV Solo's wedge design unfolds from one side—simpler than a full fold-out. No separate poles needed. Here's why it's faster: fewer moving parts mean fewer steps between parking and sleeping.

Plan for a 15–20% fuel economy hit with the iKamper BDV Solo installed. Here's why: 92.00 lbs of added weight plus aerodynamic drag increase consumption at all speeds. The penalty is worst above 65 mph where drag scales exponentially. Some owners only mount it for trips to minimize the ongoing cost.
