Warum dieses Produkt

Warum der Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3?

The Kukenam 3 is Tepui's core 3-person fold-out at 125 lbs. It shares the same 600D polyester ripstop and 2.5-inch mattress as the rest of the Explorer line but without the Autana's annex. At 125 lbs it is lighter than the Autana 3's 130 lbs. If you do not need an annex and want a straightforward 3-person fold-out from a Thule-backed brand, the Kukenam is the simpler, lighter option.

Häufige Fragen

Häufig gestellte Fragen

The Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 weighs 125.00 lbs. Your rack's dynamic load rating is the limiting factor—not static. Most factory crossbars handle 150–165 lbs dynamic. If you're close to the limit, aftermarket bars solve the problem. Nutze unseren Kompatibilitäts-Check to confirm.

The Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 weighs 125.00 lbs (56.70 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 425.00 lbs total.

Die Montage erfordert zwei Personen und etwa 45 Minuten. The Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes, but the Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3's folded profile creates more wind resistance than a hardshell. Highway speeds of 65–70 mph are fine when properly secured. Here's why caution matters: check all buckles and straps before driving—a loose cover flapping at speed can tear fabric and damage the tent.

The Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 uses 600D polyester ripstop fabric with a 2500mm waterproof rating. Das ist wichtig: 1500mm hält mäßigem Regen stand, 3000mm+ hält Dauerregen stand. It's rated 3_season. Versiegele alle Reißverschlüsse jährlich, um die Wasserdichtigkeit zu erhalten.

Expect about 5 minutes for a full setup of the Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3. That includes unfolding, extending the ladder, and securing any rainfly or annex. Practice twice at home and you'll cut that time in half. Teardown takes roughly the same.

Plan for a 15–20% fuel economy hit with the Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 installed. Here's why: 125.00 lbs of added weight plus aerodynamic drag increase consumption at all speeds. The penalty is worst above 65 mph where drag scales exponentially. Some owners only mount it for trips to minimize the ongoing cost.
