Warum dieses Produkt

Warum der Armadillo Horizon 2?

The Horizon 2 is the couples version of 23ZERO's Armadillo line — same 30-second hardshell setup, same premium canvas, but sized for two. At 205 lbs it is lighter than the family models, and the 3-inch mattress is thicker than most competitors at this price point. A strong pick for overlanders who prioritize fast camp setup and weather resistance.

Häufige Fragen

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Here's why this matters: the Armadillo Horizon 2 weighs 205.00 lbs. Your roof rack's dynamic load rating must exceed that plus occupant weight when driving. Most factory racks top out at 150–165 lbs dynamic. Nutze unseren Kompatibilitäts-Check to verify your setup.

The Armadillo Horizon 2 weighs 205.00 lbs (93.00 kg). Here's why that matters: your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating must comfortably exceed this weight. Add passengers sleeping inside (static load only) and you need the static rating to clear roughly 505.00 lbs total.

Die Montage erfordert zwei Personen und etwa 45 Minuten. The Armadillo Horizon 2 bolts to your crossbars using the included mounting hardware. Key requirement: verify your crossbar spread is between 24" and 48" before you start.

Yes. The Armadillo Horizon 2's hardshell design is aerodynamically efficient when closed. Most owners drive at normal highway speeds (65–75 mph) without issues. Here's why: the rigid shell deflects wind cleanly. You'll notice some increased fuel consumption and minor crosswind sensitivity, but handling stays predictable.

The Armadillo Horizon 2 uses 300D poly-cotton canvas fabric with a 3000mm waterproof rating. Das ist wichtig: 1500mm hält mäßigem Regen stand, 3000mm+ hält Dauerregen stand. It's rated 3_plus.

Yes—expect a 10–15% reduction in fuel economy with the Armadillo Horizon 2 mounted. Here's why: the added weight (205.00 lbs) and aerodynamic drag both increase fuel consumption. Hardshells are more efficient than softshells due to their streamlined profile. Removing it when not camping eliminates the penalty entirely.
